“For all of us who ever wished that dolphin slaughter could be replaced by dolphin watching, here’s a chance to put our money where our mouth is.
You have probably heard of Izumi Ishii, the ONLY dolphin-hunter-turned-dolphin-watch operator from Futo, Japan.
It has been a tough 10 years since he quit hunting dolphins, turning his boat into a dolphin-watch vessel instead.
Business has been slow, and it has just come to our notice that he is liable to lose his only means of livelihood, however meagre… his boat, the Kohkaimaru. If he cannot come up with another US$ 1600 by 09 February, he loses his boat.
We are appealing to everyone who is FOR dolphins to put in whatever possible to help reach this goal. If each of us puts in even $15, and shares this appeal on all the pages we possibly can, we can do this. $1600 is not a huge amount of money, and I know Izumi Ishii has earned a huge amount of goodwill among dolphin lovers globally.
Here is a man who symbolizes what we want for our beloved cetaceans… he took the pioneering step of quitting the slaughter and switching to running dolphin and whale-watch tours.
If we don’t support the change we want to see, who will?”

A Christmas Gift for The Dolphin Hunters of Taiji

When you hunt dolphins, natural resource will decrease.
Hunting is an opponent of watching.
Watching will bring benefit not only to hunters but also their local
community. Dolphin hunting makes only temporary profit.
But dolphin watching gives us benefit permanently.
People who are hunting now will not be able to hunt anymore when they
become older.
Then, they will have to quit being hunters. Don’t they think it is sad thing?
They can do dolphin watching when they become older.
Quitting fisherman(hunter) is almost as sad as killing dolphins.
I do not understand why people want to eat dolphin meat.
Can’t they live without eating dolphin meat? Of course!
And….
I disagree with dolphin show facilities.
Dolphins must be aspiring to swim in the big ocean.
Dolphins in facilities must be mentally despressed.
Can you enjoy watching dolphins which only long to go back to ocean?
Let’s not to watch mentally depressed dolphins.
I believe that dolphin watching is the symbol of anti-hunting.
Fishemen, do you know you will reincarnate to a dolphin in your next life?
This is a foreign proverb.
I warn dolphin hunters to stop dolphin slaughter, and hunting.
And I suggest to be a fisherman with generous heart.

Action Alert Bottlenose Dolphins Wait for Death in The Cove

After days of dolphin death and suffering at the Cove yet another pod has been driven in and is netted off. Finally the killers have captured a pod of the prized bottlenose dolphins. Unlike the previous pods where slaughter has begun almost immediately this family of bottlenose dolphins have been netted off and will be left in the shallow waters of the cove, without food, forced to wait for the trainers arrival when they come to select those they deem the best looking for captivity. Normally following the selections for captivity the rest of the pod is brutally slaughtered. Mothers, pregnant females, babies, it makes no difference to the killers. The rest will be dragged under tarps where the blood of innocence is spilled with sadistic cruelty beyond imagination as seen in this famous video secretly obtained at the cove in 2010 by Dieter Hagmann http://vimeo.com/28720693.
It has already been reported by Cove Guardians that the pod is very agitated jumping and spy hopping. It has been confirmed that there is a baby on-board! Please Call the Fisherman’s Union, urge them to release the pod to freedom! Let your voice be heard! We must be the voice of the dolphins of Taiji so make that call now!

Erin Ryan, blogger and so called social media specialist known as TheErinRyan on Twitter, has underestimated the world of Social Media. With over a million supporters of dolphins and whales attempting to end captivity and the dolphins drives in Taiji Erin Ryan has the nerve to friend the Facebook page “The Cove” and Academy award winning documentary that denounces the captive dolphin industry, and dolphin drives of Taiji. “Every time you swim with dolphins, go to a marine park or aquarium you support the mass slaughtering of dolphins, and the captive dolphin industry where today 1000’s upon 1000’s of dolphins are being abused in small cement pools. Her article “Drinking the Dolphin Kool-Aide and ad for the Mirage’s Well Known “Dolphin Pool of Death” she touts her wonderful experience that takes place in one of the worst pools on the planet. RIP Sweet Risso Dolphins

Today a family of Risso Dolphins died horrific deaths in “The Cove”. Last week another pod, a small family of 6 to 7 dolphins was murdered in the Cove. RIP Sweet Risso families. Your thread of life may be gone forever but you will never be forgotten.
Remember Taiji the world is watching as you murder and capture our ocean brothers and sisters for money and power. These are the people of the sea and their deaths in the bloody cove will be remembered forever. Each pod that dies, each time a dolphin is abused in dolphin base we will record and report your actions. This is you new history of Taiji and it is a history of shame. Please make way for positive change. Make Taiji known for it’s beauty, and love of dolphins, not for the cries, and blood of dying dolphins.
I just wrote this post about yesterday’s dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan in which two very rare dolphins were involved.
